- You must have permission to use any Google Account you connect and must comply with Google’s policies.
2. License
- We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on supported Mac hardware in line with the Mac App Store rules and these Terms.
- You may not copy, rent, sell, sublicense, or distribute the App except as allowed by Apple’s standard end-user license for Mac App Store purchases.
3. Third-party services
- Google Photos & Google APIs. The App helps you access Google Photos (including through an embedded web experience) and may upload media using Google’s Photos Library API. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google’s Terms of Service, policies, and quotas.
- Apple. Distribution, payments, and macOS platform rules are subject to Apple’s terms.
- We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or rate limits imposed by Google or Apple.
4. Accounts & authorization
- Sign-in uses Google OAuth. You authorize the scopes shown in the consent screen. You may revoke access in your Google Account at any time.
- You are responsible for securing your Mac user account and your Google credentials.
5. Native quick-upload features
- Optional integrations (for example Share extension, Dock drop, Finder Services, menu bar upload picker) only run when you explicitly provide files.
- Large uploads depend on stable connectivity; you acknowledge that interruptions, API limits, or device sleep settings may affect completion times.
6. Subscriptions & purchases
- Some capabilities may require a subscription or non-consumable purchase processed by Apple.
- Pricing, renewal, cancellations, and refunds follow Apple’s App Store policies. Technical entitlements may be restored using Apple’s restore flow inside the App.
7. Intellectual property
- The App itself (code, trademarks for Shield Apps product branding, artwork we provide) is owned by Shield Apps or our licensors.
- Photos, videos, and albums in your Google account remain yours subject to Google’s terms.
8. Privacy
- Our data practices are described in the Privacy Policy. The App does not rely on Shield Apps-hosted cloud storage for your Google Photos library.
- We adhere to Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use expectations, for Google API data.
9. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the App to violate laws, infringe intellectual property, harass others, or upload unlawful content.
- Do not attempt to circumvent Google rate limits or security controls, abuse Google or Apple services, or misuse OAuth tokens from another person’s account.
- Do not attempt to interfere with digital rights management or other protective measures on macOS or in the App beyond what applicable law explicitly allows.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent any such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim warranties (express or implied) including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted operation, perfect compatibility with every future macOS/Google Photos UI change.
11. Limitation of liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shield Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits/data/goodwill, arising from your use or inability to use the App—even if advised of such damages.
- Aggregate liability arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD).
- Certain jurisdictions disallow parts of these limitations; in those cases limits apply only to the extent allowed.
12. Indemnity
- You agree to defend and indemnify Shield Apps against claims arising from your content, misuse of the App, or violation of Google/Apple/third-party rules, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Termination
- You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling and revoking OAuth access.
- We may cease offering or updating the App. Termination does not remove content already stored in your Google account.
14. Governing law & venue
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
- Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the courts of Hong Kong for disputes arising from these Terms.
